CD can be used to store virtually any type of digital information, be it music, promotional video or software, and the added value aspect of CD can create premium product status for your projects.

Our replication service is required for orders over 500 units, and is the most cost effective way of presenting your material in a digital format. If you require lower quantities please see our duplication service.

ODM produce CD to the Phillip Book Standard and are constantly testing and evaluating the production process to ensure that the quality and integrity of your data is secure.

To create effective CD media projects a number of factors must be considered;

Content – We utilise a vast network of design talent from video production units to web designers to create effective budget focussed CD content. Whether it is video or audio, Power Point or e-learning, we can create the CD content you desire.

If you have already created the CD content to your satisfaction you may only need to consider the file format and platform requirements (see our pre-mastering and authoring section)

Print – The design of the disc and packaging artwork is critical to achieving the desired affect of the project. This is the first impression your CD will make and if it’s not a good one it may never get near the player!

We offer an in-house design service for artwork for both disc and packaging and can work from brief right through to your completed files.

Packaging – From low cost card wallets to high status bespoke packs, the perception of your product is dictated by the packaging, so it is vital to match this to it’s purpose. Expensive software needs packaging that reflects its intrinsic value, for example.

Standard CD (120mm)

Holding over 700MB of data, standard CD can be the ideal way to publish audio and multimedia content.

The replication process starts with a master tape or disc and through the use of laser beam technology and injection moulding your CD project is pressed into shape.

With ODM, this process is simple, effective and precise.

We produce all current CD formats including;

  • CD-Digital Audio
  • CD-ROM
  • CD+G (karaoke CD)
  • CD-Text
  • Enhanced CD
  • Video-CD
  • Mini-CD (80mm)

This disc is roughly half the size of a standard CD but hold up to 185mB of data. Easily enough for most media applications, but with the added attraction of it’s unusual dimensions, thus making it an ideal promotional tool. It can be played in any tray type CD player and the production process is exactly the same as for standard CD. It also can be produced in all of the same CD formats (see above).

Special CD Formats

CD doesn’t have to mean simply round silver disc when it can be cut to shape and scented!

Using die-cut technology CD’s can be cut into virtually any shape to create a unique marketing concept with a dramatic edge. The shape must be geometrically balanced so that it can spin correctly in a CD drive (as this is important to the function of the disc), but other that this the only limitation is your imagination.

Disc need also not be silver in colour (they must have a reflective layer though) they can be dyed to any colour you like by adding special pigments to the polycarbonate as the discs are pressed. Again, a very effective impact can be made with a little imagination.

Scented CD’s are another dimension to the overall appeal of a project and can be used to great effect when combined with other types of special CD. Many different scents are available thanks to special printing inks that give off the odour when rubbed.
